Another year goes by and the Telluride still reigns supreme.

It is hard to believe that more than a year has passed us by since we named the Kia Telluride the 2020 MotorTrend SUV of the Year.

According to AMCI's test, the K5 is not only quicker in a straight line, but it also handles better during spirited driving, a test that the BMW should have one given all the PR the Germans make around their car's driving dynamics.

 

Kia will officially roll out Plan S (the "S" meaning "Shift") early next year. According to a report from Automotive News, Song wants the brand to be "more dynamic, stylish, and inventive," with a stronger emphasis on electric vehicles. Kia promises a lineup of at least 11 EVs by the year 2025, backed in part by a massive $25 billion investment.

The 2021 Kia K5 replaces the long-running Kia Optima as the brand’s midsize family sedan, and it brings with it bold, aggressive exterior styling and a seriously comfortable driving experience. Not only that, it’s a good value compared to the competition. And while it does sacrifice some sportiness for its comfort, Kia will introduce a high-performance GT model by the end of the year that should rectify the lack of driving excitement.

• Kia has released details of its plan to become a leader in electric vehicles, promising to launch seven dedicated EVs by 2027, with 11 total EVs by 2025.
• The company promised its first dedicated EV by the end of 2021 (Kia has previously sold EVs as variants of existing models).
• Kia will partner with as-yet-unnamed charging infrastructure partners to increase the availability of EV chargers.
