How many of you drivers out there in the Waldorf area are aware of all the charitable endeavors that South Korean automaker Kia is heavily involved in? Here at Kia of Waldorf, the brand's charitable efforts is one of our favorite aspects of the company, and a recent partnership with DonorsChoose.org is really impressive to us. The pair is teaming up to allow kind souls to donate school supplies and other classroom necessities to public schools in need of assistance.
To date, Kia has donation funds and supplies to more than 500,000 public school students in the U.S., thanks to the support of more than 21,000 people out there who have given more than $2.1 million in support.
"Kia's support has helped bring books, chess sets, butterfly gardens, guitars, basketballs, microscopes, and many more resources to America's high-need classrooms," says founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.org, Charles Best. "DonorsChoose.org is grateful for Kia's renewed commitment to helping thousands of students access the materials they need and the quality education they deserve."1
Kia matches the donations of people like you out there in the Alexandria, Woodbridge, Washington, D.C. and Lanham areas. Recently, the project was given special attention thanks to a cameo on NBC's hit show The Voice.
