Kia fans and drivers who keep up with our Kia of Waldorf blog have probably already heard about the exciting Justice League Superman inspired Kia Optima hybrid which debuted at the Chicago Auto Show. Well, while we were excited to get a closer look at our Man of Steel Optima, we were also very excited to get a peek at the Kia Cross GT Concept.
Here at Kia of Waldorf, we were excited to see a luxury crossover concept vehicle offering from our favorite South Korean automaker. In terms of exterior design the body is sleek with modern lines. Some of the first things that stand out are the Tiger-Nose grille and widened stance. The Cross GT Concept CUV is 8 inches longer than the popular 2013 Kia Sorento and has a more curved roof.
Our concept car was sporting a 3.8-liter V6 gas engine and was paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Kia officials have not announced how many ponies or pound-feet of torque the concept is capable of getting, but we feel these details will be made available if it ever makes it into production.
"Our customers are looking to the Kia brand to offer relevant vehicles in the premium segments that take value to new levels of sophistication," says Michael Sprague, Kia's U.S. executive vice president of marketing. "The Cross GT is the next logical step in that evolution."1
